Boreal Owl

A small owl of boreal and montane forests, the Boreal Owl is found throughout Alaska and Canada, and across northern Eurasia, as well. It is found in the lower 48 states only in the mountains of the West, in extreme northern Minnesota, and as an occasional winter visitor to the northern states.

Description
Small owl.
No ear tufts.
White face outlined in black.
Fine spots on top of head.
Underparts dirty white, streaked with brown.
Bill yellow.

Size: 21-28 cm (8-11 in)
Wingspan: 55-62 cm (22-24 in)
Weight: 93-215 g (3.28-7.59 ounces)

Hi Mario,
nice that you are my neighbor this evening and that you too have uploaded a raptor.I have never seen a Boreal Owl in the wild and now that I have had this chance to see this photo,I sure would like too.The point of view with it in it's tree is very good with a little softness in the capture but then I know just what it is like to shoot amongst tree branches and get the subject only,not always an easy thing to do.The colour is very good and the eye colour gets my attention straight off next are the patterns of it's plumage.An attractive little bird that I'm glad you shared with us all.
