Bonjour fellow-Canadian.
There are many Great Blue images on TN and some are excellent. I've submitted a couple myself. So the competition is stiff! Yours is a beauty. The evening sun gives your heron a lovely colour and the focus is sharp. The rocks and the patterns in the water add a highly complimentary "surround" for the heron. The overall effect has a painterly quality to it.

Hello Jean,

You have made a very good use of the existing light. The face of the heron is very well lightened. Color rendering has been made very fine and many color tones are visible. There is avery fine contrast between the bird's colors and the rocks in the background.
