[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
hello dear TN friends, yesterday a couple of mallard ducks
after their mating (that i shot in photo) they start each one
separetly to take their bath, it was superb scene to watch
the « water splashes » and the « open close wings »

i have done alot of shots of them and kept only 15,
in the coming days, weeks & months i will post them,

here is the first photo of that series,
photo shot with the small Nikon compact camera
JPEG and ISO100 at SPORTS mode, it is the camera
that choose the shutter speed, and i am realy loving
the wings motion that it gived me in this image

The Mallard is distributed throughout North America,
Europe, and Asia and has been introduced to many
other parts of the globe. It is found across Canada but
is most numerous in the prairie provinces. Mallards have
recently been spreading eastwards and are firmly established
in New Brunswick along the St. John River. Mallards are rare
in Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador,
being replaced there by the closely related American Black Duck.
Mallards have also spread north into boreal, or northernmost,
forest zones in eastern Canada and along the James Bay
and Hudson Bay lowlands.

Mallards are hardy ducks, wintering regularly in
southern Ontario and southern British Columbia.
Some will remain as far north as they can find open water.
Even in Alaska, some birds are found throughout the
colder months, and in Alberta, Mallards stay on the open
waters of the North Saskatchewan River as far north as Edmonton.

The great majority, however, migrate to the central
and southern United States, where lakes and ponds
are ice-free throughout the year. Mallards are essentially
freshwater ducks, although some may winter on coastal bays. »

Hi Asbed,
like the effect that your shutter speed has created here, excellent motiion blur on the wings with everything crystal clear. The colour of the water looks very inviting and i also really like the effect of the disturbance on the surface..well done!

The motion blurred wings suit very well this picture. Something that makes this picture stand out. Good composition and sharp details of the birds body, good BG.

Tu devrais publier un livre, au rythme où tu vas et la vitesse à laquelle tu planifies à l'avance tes photos, tu dois en avoir jusqu'en 2040! C'Est une blague, Asbed, non seulement j'aime tes photos mais tes notes sont toujours intéressantes et parfois très drôles. J'aime beaucoup le mouvement des ailes de cette cane, et encore plus de savoir qu'elle se lave ainsi après l'amour... la lumière est belle et vive et le moment capté savoureux. Merci!

This is so good!!!! I love the motion of the wings and the splashing of the water. You captured him in a wonderful position with excellent details and colors. The water is beautiful with the blues and greens.

Yes, sometimes the motion on the wings makes the image come alive.
I like the fact that some of the water drops stood still, and the wings show good motion.

That is one big swoop of the wings....Asbed.
Mallards or for that matter birds look wonderful while splashing about in water.

I like it especially in the case of mallards as they are able to stand right up just like us human beings. This one looks great as it splashes around in the water.The wings look like two huge fans paddling away in the water. And rest of the bird is cpatured in good sharpness and clarity.Well done.
