hello friends, another one from my archives

from Mississipi State University website :

http://www.naturalresources.msstate.edu/resources/mourning-dove.html

« Mourning doves are medium-sized migratory
birds that range from Alaska to most of South America.
Recent surveys estimate there are approximately
500 million doves in the United States. Their song
is a low-toned, mournful cooah, coo, coo, coo.
The call of doves is a common sound in rural and
suburban backyards, although it can easily go unnoticed.
Although mourning doves are migratory birds, they will
stay in warm climates, such as Mississippi, year-round.
Whether they migrate or stay in one place year-round
depends on their habitat and forage needs being met
and the early winter’s not being too severe. »

Merci

Asbed

Hi Asbed,

He is flying so low over the snow! The clarity of the face is perfect and I love the catchlight in his eye. The wings are wonderful and the little feet are terrific. A marvelous close-up of this Mourning Dove in flight.

Jane

Hello Asbed
I didn't know the mourning dove stayed around during the winter. I love their song, it always reminds me of summer. Nice action shot.

Hello Asbed,
Very nice photo of this flying dove. Good sharpness and natural colours. Pretty eye-contact.
Regards,
Peter

Hallo Asbed
I like the sharpness and clarity of the eye and the paws in this image, and then the movement of the wings of the dove in flight. At some time the gallery was overflowing with images containing snow, and then it dried up, so it was good to the rememberance of the snow once again. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.
Anna

bonjour Asbed
Jacqueline

Hello Asbed,
I missed this fine capture!
A fine in-flight capture of a Mourning Dove. The POV, lighting and sharpness are excellent. If he were flying into the picture instead of out this would be one of your best shots, but you know that already!
Thanks and all the best,
Ivan

Bonjour Asbed,

La prise de vue permet de voir les détails et les couleurs de la tourterelle triste en vol. Le flou de l'arrière-plan met en évidence l'oiseau. La réflexion de la lumière sur la neige rehausse les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.
