[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
hello freinds, i know that this is not a
successful photo, but the reason why
i keep this photo it is the bird's flight
pose and determination on his eyes,
i thinks it is harder to put them in focus
when they have a flight coming front front

from All About Birds website :

http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Hairy_woodpecker/id

« he larger of two look alikes,
the Hairy Woodpecker is a small but powerful bird
that forages along trunks and main branches
of large trees. It wields a much longer bill
than the Downy Woodpecker's almost thornlike bill.
Hairy Woodpeckers have a somewhat soldierly look,
with their erect, straight-backed posture on tree trunks
and their cleanly striped heads. Look for them at backyard
suet or sunflower feeders, and listen for them
whinnying from woodlots, parks, and forests. »

Merci

Hi Asbed,

I'm still not sure how you do this! The position is quite amazing with the head raised and the wings almost folded down. I'm still waiting to see a Woodpecker return to Arizona.

Jane

Hi Asbed,
Good capture of this bird, TFS. Have a nice weekend.
Regards. Ferran

Bonjour Asbed,

Les arbres cadrent bien l'oiseau. Le flou du bout des ailes donne un effet de mouvement. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails et les couleurs du pic chevelu en vol. L'intensité de la lumière rehausse les couleurs de l'image.
