I am often surprised at snowy owls landing spots. They must be more fluff than substance! This is a beautiful image with fantastic side light. I love it. The background is beautiful too.

Our plump friend does not know its own weight, I'm afraid Lise, but your capture is again perfect my friend, the flattering warm illumination of the approaching sunset put a golden tinge on the feathers of this beautiful bird. A fine take indeed!

Cute title...we used to have air carriers offshore...The Enterprise one year and the jets practiced what they called touch and go exercises...where the plane would land and then take right off again...apply t to the owl and that is the appearance or w2hat I am reminded of.
