Hello Asbed,
You´r right, why always close shots. When you see the whole environment is just as interesting and maybe more then a close up. It´s a beautiful capture of the snowy owl. My attention was at the first place the shadow of the Owl on the white, white snow. Amazing in this case. I like this photo. Good POV, BG and DOF. Only I think the BG has a bit noise. Regards and TFS BOB

Hello Asbed,
Nice action shot of the landing snowy owl. The perspective view of this picture is fantastic. The vast open space and blue sky are wonderful. TFS,

Hi Asbed,
I like seeing the entire scene with the sky! Even though the white owl is surrounded by the white snow he stands out very well. A nice do over.

You do so well...and this is no exception...i would love to play with this one a bit...I get to do some work...and I get bored doing my own...very nice addition..
Bob
The snowy owls at Mirabel have been very popular this year. I am jealous. I would have been there too every chance I got. They don't seem to be too shy of people. I like seeing more of the setting which you show here. It is a nice shot.

Hello Asbed,
I'm glad you didn't crop this too close! The Owl looks great flying across the snow-covered plain (or lake?)and I like its shadow on the snow. Good focus and fine control of the whites.
TFS and regards, Ulla

Hello Asbed
I personally think you were right not to crop this and leave it as is.
It is a skilled photographer that will plan the scene,,Granted there is luck involved to capture your subject in the perfect scene..I think its called planning and patience..well it is for me.
This is a just fantastic capture and I love it as it is.
Great work Asbed.

Hi Asbed,
You are quite right. Sometimes it's appropriate to crop close and sometimes it isn't. It's really about making the most of the image you have. I do prefer this version to the previous one. It breaks the rules of composition, but in a way that works and gives the image a certain something...something unexpected. It also emphasises how well the owl blends into it's habitat, so good from both an artistic and natural history perspective.

Splendida immagine, eccellente composizione con il senso del movimento e la bellissima linea di suddivione del paesaggio fra cielo e neve, bellissima l'ombra sulla neve, molto belli i colori. Grazie e complimenti. Ciao Maurizio

Good job capturing this owl in flight! Even finding the owl is an accomplishment to me: I went looking for owls on many occasions this winter with no luck. I like the classic white/blue colour combo too.

Bonjour Asbed,

Hello Asbed!
Interesting shot of ultrarare bird. It is almost unvisible in its camouflage. Excellent framing and quality.
