My goodness, Michel!
That fish is almost as big as the baby grebe.
That is quite a mouthful.
What a fantastic POV from the front.
I also really like that attentive look of the mother.
Very sharp details and good light.
Strange behavior indeed. I know that baby grebes can be very insistent and demanding when they are hungry. Maybe the mother was feeling annoyed!

Hello Michel,
A fine capture with an interesting note.
This shot of parent Pied-billed Grebe watching its young swallowing a fish has superb technical qualities with fine lighting and set in pleasing composition.
I don't know why the parent behaved in this way but maybe it's the start of trying to get the young to be more independent and catch their own food.

How fascinating it must be to watch the behavior of these adorable Grebes. You capture this moment perfectly with fine details and good colors. The one is really struggling with the fish and the one looking on looks very amused. I love all the splashes in the water.

Fantastic moment and timing. I like everything in this photo of the Pied-billed Grebes. Excellent sharpness and details with 1/700 mm! Of course with your tri-pod. The low POV and composition are marvelous. Top quality!

Bonjour Michel,
Il n'est pas toujours facile d'être une maman! Le coeur balance entre nourrir le petit et lui apprendre l'indépendance. Pour nous mamans humaines, c'est la même chose et quelque fois je dois me forcer aussi de ne pas toujours être au service de mon fils :-)

Bonjour Michel,

Les ondes sur l'eau sont des atouts à la composition. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails et les couleurs de ces deux grèbes bigarés. le sujet est bien cadré. La lumière de l'après-midi a un bel effet sur les couleurs. Bonne journée.
