The Black-crowned Night-Heron

from All About Birds website :

http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Black-crowned_Night-Heron/lifehistory

« With a range that spans five continents, including much
of North America, the Black-crowned Night-Heron is the
most widespread heron in the world. It is most active at
dusk and at night, feeding in the same areas that other
heron species frequent during the day.

Adult Black-crowned Night-Herons apparently do not
distinguish between their own young and those from
other nests, and will brood chicks not their own.

Habitat:
Various wetland habitats, including salt, brackish,
and freshwater marshes, swamps, streams, lakes,
and agricultural fields.

Food :
Aquatic invertebrates, fish, amphibians, lizards,
snakes, rodents, eggs, and other foods.

Nice shot Asbed. It's rare to get a shot of one of these from the front flying. The picture is well framed as well. TFS Trevor

Hello Asbed,
Welcome back!
The POV and lighting make this in-flight shot of a Black-crowned Night-heron special, even though there is a little over-sharpening perhaps.
The red eye is well seen and its shadow shows how it bulges. I didn't know the eyes bulged so much.
Thanks and all the best,
Ivan

Hi Asbed,

TFS and have a nice Saturday!

Very well timed and framed!

Bonjour Asbed,

Bon weekend.

Bonjour Asbed, quelle superbe photo! Wow! J'adore le mouvement du héron, là où le temps semble s'être arrêté, avec celui des vagues au-dessus, tu imagines sa sensation en vol? Les couleurs sont superbes, la netteté, tout est beau! Profitons du beau temps pour la photo!
