[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
In the same feel as a post I did a couple of days ago, but this time it is a maple leaf which is under the ice. What happened is that it was on the snow that melted on a sunny day, leaving a thin layer of water. At night, it froze again and many leaves and small debris got stuck under the ice. That is the floor where I was walking, isn't it beautiful? All over the place, leaves, pine needles, pieces of small branches were frozen under my feet and we could look at them as through a clear glass.

This picture made me thought of Markus Peissard, my friend (Heaven), even though I don't think it comes close to the beauty of his abstracts. But this one has a different taste of reality and all the debris surrounding the leaves, the bubbles created by the water which froze, the beautiful natural colours made me think of him and his beautiful frozen pictures series.

Shortly such a sight will disappear to leave the place to sprouts, tender sweet moss and all its inhabitants. I like this season here in St-Alphonse whereas when the sun shines, it is warm yet the snow is still on the ground. You hear the small stream of water running all over the place, the birds are coming back and the light is soothing the eyes.

Have a good week-end!

Francine

Hi Francine,

A perfect dedication for Markus! The wonderful things we can see if only we look for them. This Maple Leaf under ice is lovely and a sight I have not seen before. Perhaps I would expect to find parts of leaves but not one in such good condition. Very unusual and a great find.

Hi Francine - chère petite soeur!

Many thanks for your kind attention and dedication. I'm honoured, and I like the picture as well as the notes very much. I just don't like when you say that the picture doesn't come close to what my abstract show. This is not true, and comparisons like this one are dangerous.

Your picture simply is different. And, moreover, as you say in your notes, you reflect another message, a more real one or, at least, with another sense of reality. From my point of view, the debris and other objects are not disturbing at all. You want to show something different from what I'm searching in my abstracts. In this way, your picture is superb. And it's also a fact that it is beautiful! The colours are magnificent, and the effect created by the leave taken as a prisoner in the ice is very pleasant.

Kind regards

Ton petit frère Markus

Congratulations and expect and more.
Have a nice day,

I agree that this shot brings Markus to ones mind, Francine, but, you're in a class of your own..This leaf has come to symbolize your beautiful country to us..And you show it off, so very beautifully here, you know like I've heard about the japanese, that they find beauty in everything, you do too!
Very well seen, framed and captured, my dearest friend!
Goldy

Sin dudas tu toma refleja el estilo inconfundible de Markus, tanto en temática como en coloridos y formas. Una toma realista.
