[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I am finally back today and even though I didn't post much on TN, I kept on making photographs in my daily walks. I could see all the spring flowers growing in the woods around me and discovered some nice trails in the village.

I don't post much because in my work, I do type up to 100 pages a day and I really don't feel like criticizing your pictures, not because I don't like it, but because my hands and shoulders, plus my mind, just don't follow. This is why you don't see me much around but I come everyday to look at your pictures and appreciate it as much as always.

I feel sad not being able to share more of my pictures with you, I took photographs of Pink Lady's Slippers (Cypripède rose ou Sabot de la Vierge) a lot (the wood floor was almots covered with it in some places!) and even found a white one which is rare!

I found a tall Jack-in-the-pulpit (Petit Prêcheur), Sessile-Leaved Bellwort (Uvulaire petite-fleur), whole colonies of the beautiful Bluebead Lily (Clintonie Boréale) along with Indian Cucumberroot (Médéole de Virginie), trilliums (trilles) and Trout Lilies (Erythrones), Northern Starflowers (Trientale Boréale), Wild Lily of the Valley (Maïanthème du Canada), False Solomon's Seal (Sceau-de-Solomon Pubescent), Wild Salsaparilla (Salsepareile), Dwarf Dogwoods (Cornouiller Quatre-Temps) everywhere, a few species of tiny violets (violettes), Foamflowers (Tiarelle feuille-en-coeur), Tall Meadowrue (Pigamon Hâtif), Red Baneberries (Actée Rouge peut-être Blanche)(maybe white, I still don't know), and so on. I am bewildered by the diversity found in the surrounding of my village.

I also took pictures of trees, their bark and flowers, many species of ferns, horsetails, clubmoss and mosses, lichens. I have so many pictures!

So my virtual herbal is constructing along and I started a new Web site and when it's finished I will send you my link. I've always loved plants and studied a little bit medicinal plants. Ever since I am in my twenties, plants were of an utmost interest for me.

So doing all these pictures, identifying them and eventually research more to put on my site is very exciting.

Today's plant has been introduced to you many times and I chose to show you the surrounding where it grows. You can see some clubmoss right beside it, and in the back, the white flowers are Dwarf Dogwoods (Cornouiller Quatre-Temps). They grow out of automn leaves on the ground of the forest. The more summer gets in, the more the flowers are tall. The first species to show are on the ground, able to come out in the full sunshine before the leaves grow. Then, they get covered by the new leaves and some higher plants grow, that's when you find the Lady's Slippers, Bluebead Lilies and Indian Cucumberroots. By the end of summer, you find the beautiful and tall Goldenrods (Verge d'or) etc. This rythm of growth is a symphony and I find much poetry in the forest floor.

Sometimes when I walk, I see the many flowers creating the rug where we walk, from the tiny Northern Starflowers everywhere growing along with the Wild Lily-of-the-Valley then the colony of Bluebead Lilies pops out in the middle of the tiny flowers. Not very far, the Indian Cucumberroots grow with they shy flowers underneath the top leaves.

Nature is chaos and poetry to me. Beautiful and frightening.

Francine

Please excuse me if I don't critique all your pictures and as much as I used to, time and my work keep me from doing so, I don't write as much... thanks for your understanding!

Hi Francine.
It is sad that you must work so much and cannot post your wonderful shot. Thanks for these charming flowers. I think they are small enough. You have resented it at whole beauty. Wonderful pictorial surroundings, superb details and lovely colours. Bravo and all the best for you.

Hi Francine,

Beautiful, quintessential orchids, and a lovely composition showing them at home among the neighbors.

Lovely words too, except I don't see the chaos in nature, nothing but order from my point of view. :-)

Très belle présentation des sujets dans leur environnement et sous un excellent angle de prise de vue les valorisant bien.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.

Hello Francine,
we "only" do have the yellow Lady's Slipper here, but I love these flowers since I first saw them in my chilhood. I must say that the pink Lady's Slipper looks also very nice, and I am glad you have presented it in its whole size. Beautiful natural colours and nice surrounding. Thanks for this beauty.
Best wishes,
Helmut
