[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken from an observation dock on Lake Seigneurial in Mont St-Bruno National Park, this picture shows again the nice fall colors here. This lac is situated about 15-20 minutes from Des Bouleaux lake where I posted a picture several weeks ago.
The sun was low, nice warm tones, used a polarizing filter for more vivid colours. Used a f/5.6 stop because the main subject (the trees) were far away and since I was on a dock, it was not stable, so no tripod, needed a faster shutter.

Sharpen and cropped in RAW,
converted to JPEG, resize for posting.

Note: I had to crop because I had a dark halo effect in the coners of the picture. Anyone know why ?

Very nice autumnal landscape.Beautiful colours and very good light.Love gorgeous colouring wood in this season.Very nice composition and take-off in water-level.Good work.

Hi Patrick,
Great photo with stunning fall colors. I really envy you that fall is so colorfull in your part of the world. The exposure is perfect, eventhough the sky seems a little lighter then it probably was (see reflection in the water. The aperture is good, since you do not have anything in the FG that can function as a leadline. Even at a smaller aperture, the trees would look the same. About the dark corners, Horia is correct and it is probably caused by the filter. Did you put yout CP filter on top of your UV? That is when I get vignetting at 18mm focal lenght.

What a splendid sight! This traquill lake looks amazing!
The colors and tones are wonderful here! The reflections are very nice and the small waves just make all the difference. :)
Very well managed exposure, excellent use of the polarizer and a great composed shot all-in-all!

PS: the dark halos are probably vignetting...at least that's what i can think of from what you discribe.

Autumn has placed the carpet all over nature, colouring trees and vegetation in a most beautiful manner!
This looks like a beautiful October day, and the atmosphere is well captured...
Pleasant composition, simple but no reason to fiddle with this!
