[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
In a field, I found a killdeer nest with four eggs. Here is the mother. I hope I will be able to see the babies coming out the eggs!

Killdeer
Charadrius vociferus

Description 9-11" (23-28 cm). Our largest "ringed" plover. Brown above and white below, with 2 black bands across breast, pied face with red eye ring, long legs, and relatively long tail. In flight, shows rusty uppertail coverts and rump.

Habitat: Open country generally: plowed fields, farms, golf courses, and short-grass prairies.

Nesting: 4 pale buff eggs, spotted with blackish brown, in a shallow depression lined with grass on bare ground. Parent feigns broken wing to attract intruders away from nest or chicks.

Range: Breeds from Alaska east across continent to Newfoundland and southward. Winters north to British Columbia, Utah, Ohio Valley, and Massachusetts. Also in South America.

Voice: Strident kill-dee.

Canon EOS Digital Rebel
Lens: Canon EF 75-300mm 1:4-5.6

Speed: 1/1000 f/11
ISO 800
Focal Length: 300mm

There aren't very many photos of these birds on here. This is a very nice close-up of this bird. I love the close look at the eye of this one, all the green grass around is very nice, well done.

Very good capture, Helene.
Good POV, well composed and good sharpness.
The big eye is amazing.
Veru well done.
