[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
hello dear TN friends, after a long absence of a month
here i am again, at the lats month i did only
2 or 3 times nature photographing (of rabbbit)

i decide to comeback with this image of a protective
mallard duck Mother because in this last week
my wonderful Mother had some health problems
but now she is going well, i decide to comeback
with this image of a protective mallard duck Mother
to wish to my wonderful Mother a excellent health,
soon in 5 weeks she will go on her 77 age old

in this image, i, first was a little bit far
and did a first click, then i decide to approach
a little bit more to have an image from close

i was with my first Nikon compact, 3X zoom

when i did my approach this mallard Mommy
took this protective Mother pose, i love better
this image than i did the first click

this photo was took at the river Riviére des Prairies,
the river beetween the island of Montréal and Laval,
i was at Montréal's side in the Nature Park of

There has been a void without your images....but now you chose to return and with a wonderful re-introduction. You took this 3 days before my birthday...that is middle summer..and most beautiful time with exception of autumn. right now this colourful image makes me wish that we could somehow avoid winter...but at least we have fall...Your canard is wonderful Asbed. Les images du vôtre aiment l'art ! Mon oiseau préféré est un canard. We should call it "Duck Art"!

Hi Asbed,

It's so good to see you back. I hope your mother is well on the way to recovery. I'm so glad you got closer to take this photo because here we have a wonderful view of the little Chicks and of the mother. She looks very protective of them. Nice colors and details - her face and plummage is excellent. I love the natural setting.

Welcome back. What others have noticed, same is true from my end! Your absence was felt and by adding this pulsatile shot of the protective mother, you have shown the basic inherent disposition of all mothers. A good photograph with excellent BG & camouflaged duckling. TFS.

What a tender scene of the portective mother and her chicks.
I like the way you seem to catch by surprise to the mallard, the eye contact and her feather's patterns.
I like also the composition made with the upper triangle made with the water.

Lovely pose and composition as the female Mallard guards her ducklings, Asbed!
I like the diagonal lines in the composition and POV is just right for the pose.
