Beluga whale breaching in Cunningham Inlet on the Northern end of Somerset Island approximately 85 km south of Resolute Bay in the Canadian Arctic. A population of more than 3000 individual come here every summer to calve and feed in the warmer waters of the inlet.
I came here in mid July 2005 and stayed 10 days at Arctic Watch an ecotourism outfitter located on the South end of Cunningham Inlet. See more pictures of Arctic Watch on TE under my name. You can find more information on Arctic Watch on the Web. |

Ah... to see a beluga in the ocean... free in his natural habitat. I would love to do that one day. That must be such a thrill. Great capture. Good timing, sharp details, perfect exposure. Well done and TFS. : )
Lucky capture, and I like the low POV.
TFS,
Alli
