[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
On our way south, on board an icebreaker, at the end of a three month arctic patrol, we happened to take a quick jaunt into Scott Inlet. What started as a very dull day, due to the heavy overcast weather, turned out just right, no wind, clouds thinning out, sun coming out late in the afternoon, a little chill in the air (created by the glaciers to the right and left of the photo.) According to the naval charts on board, the peak to the right of the picture is jsut over 900 meters high. Not to far from this location there was another peak at 1,800 meters high, and I am quite sure we could have tied up to both, for the fjord has an average of 700 to 800 meters in depth. One of the most beautiful sites that I have seen in the Canadian High Arctic. Its just a little south east from Pond Inlet for those who have maps of Northern Canada.

Wonderful shot. Very powerful.

Such a moving landscape, your image is nothing but an encouragement to further look into my plans on visiting Nunavut and Baffin Island in the future. Looking forward to see and hear more about your trip maybe some wildlife too. If you can please e-mail me some more pics or brief info on the Nunavut. Radu Xplorator - letmegoclimbing@yahoo.com

Merci beaucoup de la partager avec nous.

Wonderful scene. Luc's workshop adds, I think, the finishing touch.

Congratulation, this is a beautiful shot of a beautiful place! The water is so quiet and the reflection in the water is beautiful!
Bye Tom

Belle prise de vue. C'est très impressionnant, merci de nous montrer des paysages très différents de ce que je suis habituée de voir, ici en ville.

Hola Pierre!

Great landscape! I want to stay there.
Good composition and good reflections in water.

TFS,

ferran

It feels cold, but such a grandeur, beautiful northern colors, very good sharpness and reflection!

Very strong image and very dramatic, this is a fantastic image. Well done Pierre. :)

Well done capturing the remote and cold of this place

STUNNING!!

Hello Pierre
this is one of those places where it would appeal to make a travel to me. Wild nature far away from the civilization. The colors are beautifulst and they do not give less the game than shadows and contrasts.
Livio
