What a brilliant turquoise lake. Quite an unusual colour, but we have Lake Tekapo in NZ with a similar colour. Well captured Richard, and the pine trees seem to emphasise the colour too. It's an image of many contrasts - well done

Hi Richard,
just as in your previous post you show us some stunning landscapes. It's great to see the slightly tilted sedimentation rock formation.
I happen to have a very bad computer screen. The image itself looks a bit too satured, at least the lake itself has no structure. Would a selective slight underexposure help?
Regards, Jacob

Hello Richard,
Stunning picture. Amazing to look at the structures of the mountains, to see the tree-line and the azur water of the lake. And even more,in this paradise you can observe wild animals.
Thanks for this fantastic picture

Hi, Richard!
Usually in a lake's water one can see reflection of the sky... and here both the colours are different. Very nice sight! Similar colour of the water I saw only in Dolomites Alps in Italy.

Hi Richard,
I have to be honest. Looking at this photo makes me feel drunk. When I look at the mountain and the angle of the lake it feels as if the photo is tilted to the left. But when I look at the trees in the front it seems all straight again. I do think the photo is straight, but because I am missing some kind of reference my eyes keep on believing something is not correct. I think it has to do with the composition of the lake. There is no end or begining. But I am not sure. Maybe someone else can explain it.
Sorry,
Niek
Hi Richard,
I've looked at this image several times the past few days and I admit that It bothers me the same way that it bothered Niek. I think it does need a bit of a rotation so that the main tree and opposite waterfall are vertical. I do think there is a bit of wide angle lens distortion making the right side trees lean outward. The other factor that adds to the sense of imbalance is the the lines of geological uplift in the mountain. These mountains have been uplifted on an angle. I tried a workshop. It is a majestic scene and you had a wonderful clear day for photography. It was rainy on my first visit and smokey on my last visit.
Having visited Banff, I think the colors are fine as they are.

Hello Richard,
The colour of this lake is unusual, almost surreal!
Many interesting details have been captured in the landscape, like how the forest is striving to clad the mountain slopes...
A well framed presentation!
