This photo was taken while I spent the summer of 2007 in Banff National Park. In order to get to Consolation Lake, you must hike in. It's a very short hike, not too much of an elevation gain. Consolation Lake is located in the Moraine Lake Area. The trailhead can be found very close to Moraine Lake Lodge towards the Rockpile trail. It's a beautiful setting and the trail is very quiet. Parks Canada however posts Bear Warnings in this area during the summer. The bears like to hang out in this area. They recommend traveling in groups of 4 to 6 people and they advise to always be aware for animal signs such as footprints and droppings. I did quite a bit of hiking, every day, trying out a new trail. The Banff-Lake Louise area is a mecca for hiking and with minimal effort, you are granted spectacular mountain views.

Even though its a small photo, it is very nice. Looks like a pleasent place to go in summer, and perhaps swim in the lake. Nicely done. Cheers Josh Lewis.
