Great shot mate of these Mountain Goats, love the stealth like approach, I really don't mind the rocks on the left that really adds to the intrigue of getting the shot. It looks like there’s a fair drop to the valley floor below to, excellent detail and d.o.f, nice capture. Have a great weekend,

Poor Lucy - was she watching you climb those rocks? It was worth it to get this shot of the mountain goats - after you got back safely. It looks pretty steep. These goats are great - they look chubbier than ones I have seen. Don't know what it is that Canadian animals find to eat that makes them so healthy looking. A wonderful sight - the white shows up so well against the dark woods and we can see the animals clearly in good detail.

How do they do it Ron? No fear? And balance must be amazing...built in gyro or some such..I have seen these between Curlew and the Midway border crossing but never ever got close..Looks like you were putting yourself way out of the stretch there guy. Neat photo considering I know what you had to got through to get it!

Cute furry little things, Rick.
Being sure-footed is rightly associated with their name -- Mountain Goats. I am sure they had no problem with that steep incline on the other side.
It is a good stealth shot from the rear.
The dark surroundings contrast well with their white colour.

Great capture Rick. The goats look so much better in fall than they do in spring. How fun to sneak up and get such a close vantage point. My husband climbed way up to them last spring in Glacier. He sat there a long time and eventually they just started to ignore him. He got a couple of good shots out of it. I know that Rebel doesn't have spot metering ( I sure miss it on occasion) but perhaps partial would have exposed the goats a little whiter???
