Mount Niblock
2976m (9764ft)
Named in 1904, John Niblock was a superintendent with Canadian Pacific Railway. It was first ascended in 1899 by Walter D. Wilcox.
We hiked up to Lake Agnes above Lake Louise, but first we ate a delicious meal at the Chateau Lake Louise. Lake Agnes is 3.4 km one way with an elevation gain of 385m. A Tea House awaits those who needing a drink or dessert. The trail is considered easy and takes approximately 1.5 hours to hike up.
Lake Agnes is named for Sir John A. MacDonald (Canada's first prime minister) second wife. I heard she never visited the lake. Lake Agnes was behind me when I captured this view of Mount Niblock, perhaps tomorrow I will upload Lake Agnes. |

Hello Janice,
Superb landscape showing of this alpine area. I am amazed how plants can survive in the harshest places, this is one and the desert is another. Thanks for sharing my friend.
