Agnes Lake, Banff National Park

This is Agnes Lake, 360 m above Lake Louise. We hiked almost two hours to reach this spot. An amazing little lake so high up. I like the reflections in the water. We couldn't have picked a nicer day to hike as the weather was perfect, not to hot and not to cold.

Agnes Lake is named from Sir John A Macdonalds (Canada's first Prime Minister) second wife. Her full name was Susan Agnes Bernard. 1st Baroness Macdonald of Earnscliffe.

Hi Janice!

Looking at this picture is a wonderful way to start my day. The perspective created by the chosen point of view and the narrow valley with the "door" at the horizon is fabulous. This perspective is highlighted by the lightplay that goes from dark to bright. Moreover, the atmosphere is very peaceful and serene. I love it...

Kind regards

Markus

Hi Janice,
For me this is very close to the idea of paradise.
An idillic image, certainly the sky and weather couldn't have been any better.
It sounds like if you had a great time there, and for the picture we can figured out why.
My compliments and thanks for share.
Best regards,
JM

Janice,

An extremely beautiful scene which you have portrayed here. The colours, lighting and DOF make the landscape very detailed throughout the frame. The image is razor sharp and very clear and you did very well by hand holding for the pic. Your composition is also great and captures the sky and reflection of the water.

Sheriff

Hello Janice,
What a beautiful view across this smooth lake framed by steep sides and leading towards the mountains in the far distance. I like the stones and the (Larch?) tree in the foreground. A lovely composition with great DOF and in beautiful colours.
Many thanks and regards, Ulla

Hi Janice,

Being from Calgary originally, I'm always attracted to scenes from that area. I love the way that the reflections in your photo make a water path to the mountain in the center. Such a lovely Alberta blue sky and deep blue lake. I like the way that you've brought a few tree branches close to the viewer so that the trees on the mountain sides can be better appreciated. A very nice scene that you've captured splendidly. TFS.

John

Hi Janice,
This area just climbed a spot higher on my list of to visit areas. The natural beauty of this area is wonderful and your photo surely impressed me. I love the position of the tree and the reflection of the lake. But the most beautiful part is the gap inbetween the two mountains and its view on next mountain range.
TFS,
Niek
