Used the humorous category because there is no question mark category. My title nerds comes from the way they look too me like little candy nerds that I used to eat as a child.
HELP!!! What is this really and what category should it be in?
Enjoy!!

Hi Christian,
It looks to me as though you've found some galls of some sort.
Is the tree an apple or pear tree?
I'm not sure exactly what causes this but it does look like a leaf gall.
Trippy!
Steve

Hi Christan,
I certainly looks unusual and is probably Galls as Steve has suggested and its probably speading at a rapid rate by the looks of it. However it is a pretty colour.
cheers,
Debbie

Hi Christan,
Wow, I am not sure what is this....
Tumor cells on leaves.......
But great that you shared it with us

What Gall you have! Ha! Well if you ate them as a child, then they must be somewhere near the fountain of beauty. Something Ponce DeLeone never knew existed. A wonderful colorful capture.

Hello Christan

Leaf galls are fairly common on trees and shrubs. A gall is actually plant tissue that has developed as the result of feeding or other activity of insects or mites. Plant hormones are involved when the pest interferes with leaf development in the spring.Preventing most leaf galls is extremely difficult. However, other than being unsightly, most leaf galls are not harming the tree or shrub. The colours are well saturated and this is a great documentation of this.Well focused ,I agree they do look like the candy Nerds.TFS
