[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
There was plenty of moisture left over from a couple of recent rainstorms. Yesterday's heating generated a few nice thunderheads, but no rain. That made for some nice photography conditions.

This was shot with my new 70-300 which I'm finding to be very useful and still really enjoying. I used a polarizing filter to enrich the sky (since the cloud was about a 89 degree angle from the sun -- the angle that polarizers are optimal.

PP: A contrast bump, sharpen, resize, and frame.

The cloud shot is like one of my earliest posts here on TN.

The clouds are truly striking Mike!
Excellent detail and lighting!
I hope you have fun using your new lens!
You know that you will be buying another lens soon. It never ends!

Cheers!

Good definition in the clouds, just the right amount of high contrast light in the mixed to give them a very dramatic feel.

Hello Mike, this is a great shot. I love the billowing puffyness. The contrast and exposure give a dramatic effect. However, there is some noise/artifacts - from sharpening? You probably wouldn't need to give this much, if any, in the way of sharpening. Well done.

beautiful shot, i love such photos ;]

Great clouds.

The contrast is marvelous, making this very 3D. Maybe a little bit too much noise, but still, very effective image. tfs.
