The waterlilies...NOT!
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
The family went out to a local lake yesterday to celebrate Canada Day. Of course, I had to bring my camera. Before the sun got too high in the sky I went around capturing a dozen naure shots (before the obligatory 100 family shots). So I turned up a beautiful view of some waterplants. It reminded me of Monet's waterlilies painting. I was working from memory, but I think I did a decent job of re-creating the original (posted here as a workshop). But it looks like I'll have to go back in a few weeks and see if these open.

Hello Mike,
yes you are right, it was my first thought wen I saw your photo : Monet
Thanks for posting the painting to compare.

Is this an arty one Mike, in true Recep style. If it were an landscape I may launch a vicious assault but having read your note and looked at your WS I see your vision. I shall return from the dead to see finished result. Well done.
Not bad Mike,
A great idea to try to reproduce the waterlilies, and a good attempt too.
Good detail, colours and sharpness. exposure and lighting are good. Good POV and composition.
Thanks for posting, have a great week.
Interesting idea Mike. There is potential there. Do go back and see if they bloom. I tried cropping your image to just the upper left quadrant, toning it down just a little and it seemed even more Monet-esque. : )
Thanks for sharing
