[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The American White Pelican:
Common in about the middle of north America, but rare elsewhere. This is taken in Manitoba where there are lots of these large mainly white birds. I go there often but have never had the chance to get near them for capturing images. Unlike the brown pelican and th Australian pelicans, they fish by swimming, not diving.
They are nervous and skittish and I was lucky to capture this scene. It should be sharper, but as always, the tripod was somewhere else when I really needed it!

This is a really good picture, but I think I would try giving it a little more contrast. Gary

Hi John,

A good capture of the pelican which caught a fish. The details and colors of the bird are clear and sharp. The subject is well frame. The reflection of the light on the water is enahncing the colors. Have a nice day.

Pierre

Hello John,
Love the action captured here John, looks like a bad day for the fish but a good day for the pelican. Thanks for sharing this great image.
Rick
