Wow did I say of one of the other eagle photos you have recently posted that I was green with envy, well now my blue eyes have turned green and if you keep it up I'll just have to get to the area where you made this wonderful capture!Bald eagles are my most favorite of all the raptors I have seen, as they are large and striking with the contrasting white and brown feathers and look so serious and determined.I rather enjoy salmon and it is no surprise that this eagle does as well however I'm a bit more fussy about freshness but salmon being a fairly fatty fish sure will help keep the eagle from going hungry and stay warm in the winter.I see what you mean about the effects of the high iso but in the end for the light you had to work with ,this photo is too good to ignore. The photo is dark but very well focused and the crop you made for this one looks just right on the money making the composition have a good balance. It appears that I jumped in on this photo before you had the workshop image up.Thanks for sharing this excellent subject with us even if ma nature didn't want to given you a sunny day. Evelynn,
Looking at this picture makes me realize how much I miss photography! (I'm in the middle of exams so that puts an end to any photo trips / TN / fun) Anyways, it looks like you are having a blast at this location. Keep up the great work - this picture is just as good as your previous eagle shots. Nicely done.
Best Regards,
Martin

Hi Evelynn,
What a nice composition you have in your photo with this magestic bird mirroring in the water. The sharp image shows very fine bird's impressive plumage. Head with it's strong beak is aslo very nice shown.

Hi Evelynn
I love your series of the Eagles. You have done a great job on all of them.I like the reflection you captured on this one. There has been 5 of them at the refuge the last couple weeks. I watched one grab a duck right out of the water when I was at the bird blind last week. I was able to get some shots but just not very good ones. I love seeing these big guys in the wild. Thanks for sharing these.

Hi Evelynn,
The details in the feathers and actually the entire bird are very impressive. I like the moment a lot. It looks like he kept a watchful eye to what you were doing before it would eat again.
I am looking to this photo on my monitor at work, so I can't really judge the photo on colors, brightness and noise. But it seems to be OK. I can however judge on straightness. The photo needs a rotation to the right. If you look at the reflection, the verticals do not match.
TFS,
Niek

Hi Evelynn,
Great image especially having to overcome some dreadful lighting conditions. The aroma of rotting fish always stays with us for a couple of days after leaving Hyder so I know what the air smells like there, lol.

Don't know about you, but we can only get Atlantic Salmon for the last 3-4 weeks. Something is up I can tell..and the most precious of beast stills gets the flavour...I love Salmon...Omega etc...and a staple here..almost like rice.....Farmed in the Atlantic though..Onece in a while a wild caught but 22 dollars a pound...I give it up for winter I suppose..At least I can see by your image it goes to a good cause!

Hi Evelynn
It probably wasn't the most pleasant sight there, with all those rotting salmons around, but it sure was the perfect bate for all these wonderful eagle close-ups :)
Great one here, showing another side of nature, one that usually gets left out in comparison to the ever-popular in-flights.
I personally like this shot, even if you had a really bad weather and light to work with. Good details and natural colors, as well.
... also think Niek is right about the tilting...but then again, he usually is about most things ;)
Bravo and TFS

Hello Evelynn
I saw a Bald eagle on Friday,it was on a picture perfect gnarled dead tree next to a frozen river, the setting was beautiful.I approached quietly and had the camera at the ready.I got nothing, never even squeezed off one shot.
This shot has a wonderful reflection, excellent POV and very good detail and focus.
Well done for the conditions.
