[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This was taken in Oak bay just down from the Chinese Cemetery. Legend has it the local Songhees tells a story of a man hunting seals and being visited by "The Transfomer" who turned him into stone.
Two pieces of the earth's crust meet at Harling Point.
Glaciers have carved large grooves in the rock and left behind several, large, glacial erratics ( rocks moved by glaciers and left on top of a different kind of rock)Harpoon Rock is such a rock.

Hi Doreen,
this looks like a wild and windswept spot! We have many boulders here in the north of my country left by retreating glaciers too. A very nice POV, simple but effective composition creating space and a far view across the Bay to the mountains. Thanks for sharing it and a belated welcome to TN!
Paul
