"You sent me some difficult flowers this time, but I’ll do my best and see if I can help you at least with some of them.
I am going to take you on a bit of an Internet journey. ..." He called this one:
"4. Totally Unknown Territory.
I am sorry, but this one bowled me over. I have never seen it and I do not have the faintest clue where to start to search for its identification. It seems to be some kind of vine in the pea family, but that’s as close as I can get and probably I am even barking up the wrong tree.
Compare for example these quite different looking plants yet in some ways very similar looking flowers of the Lathyrus holochlorus - thin-leaved peavine: http://www.appliedeco.org/WillVal/Lathyrus/Lathyrus_holochlorus_flwr.JPG
Another one in the peavine family: http://www.ece.ubc.ca/~ianc/Botanie2/DSCN9828e.JPG Or otherwise it might be from the pitcher plant family, but I just don’t know. Sorry.

I found this photo on the web, but unfortunately it has no name. I think it is the same flower that you have on your photo: http://students.cadgis.lsu.edu/wmonk1/Photography/Biltmore%20mystery%20flower.jpg "

Since August I've been doing my best to identify this wild flower. The closest I got is via our friend "loot".

If any body knows its name PLEASE write to me. Thank you in anticipation.

gee I 'm no help with whatever it is sorry about that part, but the photo should certainly help someone reconize it , as the photo is rigtht on..nicely done. The tree it is on is also very intersting with the roots or vines all twisted up like that..nice shot. TFS

Thanks so much for your comments on my photo " December Storm -5" :o) I'm glad you are enjoying my saga! :o)

Hi Aires,
Loot is one of the best person at TN in identifying plant species.
It seems that taking picture is easier that figuring out ID of the plants we captured.
After looking at your picture, I am quite sure that this is not from family of pitcher plants.
Nice colors, neat image.
Composition-wise: feel that it would be better if more space allocated at left side and less space for the tree trunk at right side.
Thanks for sharing.

TFS, the picture is too yellow and the frame is not really neededm, anyway, the flower is Thunbergia mysorensis. Ori

Hi Mario

Aaaah, it is so easy once the real knowledgeable specialists assist us nincompoops with the correct information. Sunday I’ve spend quite some time to ID a number of flowers you sent me, but alas, as I told you, this plant/flower bowled me over. Now that Ori have given you the correct name it is so easy to find some more info on this plant. I've surfed a bit on the Internet and found this site with some useful information and also this site. This was a very fascinating, useful, and worthwhile learning for me.

Your composition and POV is very interesting, but (IMHO) I have to agree with Ori that the photo is too yellow. The one you originally send to me had a far better and more natural colour. The exposure was spot-on and it shows some lovely contrast in the 'butter & brick' colours.

Anyway, well done and TFS.
Regards
Loot

Hi Aires.
Very interesting captured scene. Expressive lighting and nice colours, excellent DOF and POV. I like your cropping and framing so much. It would be better if I can see EXIF data. I am interesting in this info as usual. Well done and TFS.
Alexei.

Hi Mario,

Hi Mario. Good to see the delicate flower against the gnarled vines behind. Clarity and colours are excellent. Well presented. TFS. Murray.
