[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This orchid was artificially died before I bought it. I think they put blue dies in the water and the plant sucks it up to its veins. The pinks and purples are natural, the blues are the colourants.

The colours and textures of the flower really attracted me to take this photo. I lit it from behind to show the delicate surface shining through. I also used a tiny flashlight to add glow to the front of the flower (I didn't use camera flash due to the extreme closeup).

Equipment:
Olympus C-4000Z 4MP digital camera set to 2" super macro mode. I also used 6" minitripod to allow the long exposure due to the small aperture. SM card.

Postprocessing in PS 7:
- cropped and resized
- cloned out distracting backgound
- used levels to adjust tonal values
- bosted colour and saturation
- sharpened
- added border

Excellent close-up Nella! I love its colours, sharpness and POV. Great light and details also.

Welcome on TN and wish you next posts as good as this one!

Sorry, points tomorrow.

Welcome to Trek Nature, Nella. Your shot is beautiful! Great composition and point of view. I would have liked to know what post-processing you have done to the original photo; that would be interesting. In general, Trek Nature members post their images along with an explanatory note about the subject or photographic information. Thanks for sharing.

Linda Foto!!

Hi Nella, very inspiring photo :) Great point of view. This loose contrast gives a special mood to the photo. A note would be usefull.
Welcome to the TN.

well Nella I love your shot,
first I gif you a rule out the TOS.9 As the purpose of TrekNature is to learn about the world of nature through photography, shots of common objects (like closeups of garden plants, water droplets, etc.) tend not teach us anything without a suitable note, so unless there's a suitable note they will be liable to deletion at our discretion. If you wish to post these types of image please consider using our sister site TrekLens.
It's not a rule from me but I thought Let say it to her otherwise we get wrong faces here.
Now over you photo Yes I like it a lot. Theexposure f11 and 2 sec. lens opening, woh I love the effect, fantastic. I think I try it also. It looks to me a 3D shot, very good job, Nella I hope you may let your photo here.
