Still on my husbands ship we are at this point at the end of the Welland Canal and about to enter Lake Ontario. I was so tired from standing up in the wheelhouse while my husband navigated the 8 locks the ship went down starting at 10PM when I boarded the ship the night before. I was so amazed at the color of Lake Ontario , so bright bright blue against the muddy water of the stirred up canal.

The welland canal is what connects Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. Ships enter the Canal from Lake Ontario at Port Weller and exit into Lake Erie at Port Colborne. The eight locks take an average of 11 hours for the ship to transit. All part of the St. Lawrence Seaway System that will take ships from the Atlantic Ocean into the Great Lakes.

Hi Donna,
wonderful having you back.. I see you brought back some great shot. I like this a lot, the diagonal composition is great, very nice how the strip of land devides the bodies of water. Excellent use of scae and the colors are fabulous.

Hello Donna,
Interesting composition with this totally dried up vegetation, is it only marked by winter or is it all dead?
Good light and fine colours, attractive composition with strong diagonal!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi Donna

Antoher beautiful image here from you!
I like the slight diagonal displacement of the row of trees as well as teh charming contrast between the green and the old braches.
Despite the simple composition, this shot is very beautiful, with lovely well saturated colors and good lighting.

Bravo and TFS
Horia
