[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I looked everywhere for the name of this butterfly. After going through several websites I think I've identified this Butterfly as the Ornithoptera chimaera chimaera please forgive me if I'm wrong and glady tell me what it is..:o)
Again this photo was taken at the Niagara Butterfly Conservatory. They have over 2000 butterflies there. They even have a "nursery" where in an open window you can watch the butterflies emerge from their crysltis. Amazing place.

Thanks for looking at my gallery and your comments on my photos.

Have a Happy Mothers Day. Hug a Mom today.:o)

Hi Donna,
This butterfly has such beautiful colours and you have captured them well. Great POV. Beautiful.
Cheers,
Debbie

Nicely done, Donna. A great subject captured here with great detail and color. You've violated a common rule here by making the subject darker than the bg, but I think you did a good job with the flash fill to bring out the details and the colors. I also think it goes to show why these rules aren't laws -- your photo succeeds despite the "violation" in fact, it may even be better for it.
Mike

Hello Donna i think this butterfly is'nt ornithoptéra(Shoenbergia) Chimaéra specie but probably Ornithoptéra Priamus Euphorion, male. You can see the voucher about Chimaéra on web site www.nagypal.net/images/zzchimae.htm and about Priamus specie on www.nagypal.net/images/zzpriamu.htm Have nice day Dany

This is indeed a lovelt species and the strong contrast on it really is eye-catching :)
The POV here is nice and the DOF that you used is very good.

Hi Donna,
this one I had a hard time with last time I was at the conservatory, not many around and not in my cameras reach.
Glad you caught one that close and captured all those wonderful details for me to admire.
Very nice POV and colors are great. I love the composition and the wondefl frame you created for it.
