3 Bugs in a wild Strawberry
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
the wild strawberry flowers are in bloom, and the insects are all a-buzz about the news.
Once the pollination is done, the embryo can develop into a strawberry for birds and mammals to eat. Hours later the seeds are deposited far away in a lump of poop where they can start growing given sufficient water and nutritious soil.
Thus, the strawberry plant pays (in sugar) to motivate insects to pollinate its gametes, then birds and mammals to fertilize and spread its seeds around the countryside. |
