[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I believe these are yellow monkey flowers (Mimulus guttatus) which grow naturally near the shore.
They are apparently called monkey-flowers for when you repeatedly pinch the stem below the flower, the petals will open and close as a monkey's face. I have yet to try this bit of mother nature's humour.
This photo appeals to me for the colour combination: yellow-red flowers with a perfectly contrasting blue rock background and complementary yellow-green leaves in the foreground.

Hi John,
Sorry, the purple rock doesn't do it for me. I rather see a more natural look rock. Did you alter this on purpose? Anyway, I would adjust the white balance to get a more natural color rock. This might also help you on the color fringing. I do like your low POV, but I think a different composition and crop will give a better view. It also might help to focus on one subject. My eyes now keep wandering around.

nice colors, the background is ok but the flowers seem to lack focus or at least features--maybe the color is too intense for featurs to show well. some noise in the foreground too. but still a nice POV
