[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Again this is more about information than it is about stellar light and composition. The tranquil turquoise waters of this the 3rd Joffre Lake where we were camped used to have the terminus of the Matier Glacier (extreme top center) in the lake itself. Recent warming trends have caused this glacier to recede a fair distance above the lake; leaving an interesting moraine dam in it's retreat.
Glaciers are always on the move in their slow yet unrelenting pace; taking rocks and other debris with it in their downward decent.
Some of such debris gets pushed to the side as the glacier continues to carve it's path, leaving an interesting ridge of rocky moraine.

I love this composition Tim, you have taken it with the feeling that it's like the viewer looking through the trees at this wonderful scenery.
Shame its a dead tree on our right and not a nice lush green tree like the others but we cannot have it all our own way otherwise these beautiful scenes would not get seen if we did not take the photo.

Beautiful scene well captured, good note. Are those trees on the left of the moraine ridge, it always amazes me that trees grow in such a harsh environment with little soil.
