underwater lily

Another image from the water lily colony at the north end of Fuller Lake, from a depth of about four feet.
The contrast of colours comes when the sunlight penetrates the water enough to illuminate the vegetation. Usually the scene is murky as floating matter (mostly pollen, duck dung and vegetable matter) and mud reduce the light and colour considerably. However, after several days without rain the light and image quality improve. |

Hi John,
I like this image, because whenever I see plant-life underwater it reminds me of mermaids. ;P
Pretty colours, and a job well done at the focusing! Murky water is very Canadian! TFS.
