Hi Michel,
Fabulous looking bird and you have captured it in a majestic pose. I like the way it clings on to the stem and the natural lighting is just magnificent. Excellent BG which highlights the subjects and very impressive sharpness and colours. I like your POV to portray the Blackbird and the superb composition. Kudos.

Hi Michel

A lovely bird in a first class pose you have captured here. Those bright shoulder "flashers" are great and the story about the territorial scuffles and winner takes all scenario is quite interesting.

I like the composition with excellent placing of the bird and reed. The colours are great and the details are fine. The BG is perfectly isolated through the telephoto effect and the soft tones compliment the dark bird. The exposure is fine although a little short on contrast on the dark body, but maybe it is just my monitor.

I did not have the opportunity to critique any photos lately as I have been in hospital with pneumonia. I see you have also not posted lately, and trust you are ok. I’ll critique this King of the March photo of yours.
First of all thanks for the attention-grabbing information giving. Like always I enjoyed this tremendously. If I start looking at photos for critiquing and I see a lengthy note, I’ll always give my smiley to that member, does not matter if the posting itself is not of such a good quality. After all I am here to learn, and I think that is why the most of my smiley’s have been rewarded to Loot’s photo’s. He always supply such a valuable suitcase full of information.
This bird surely looks like a warrior and a fighter. He looks cheeky to. The way he looks back as if he is saying “Come and try me, I am waiting for you”.
The black and red of the plumage compliments one another very well. Thanks for sharing and well done.
