[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
While unloading the kayaks on a small island near Nanoose Bay, I spied a skull laying atop the gravel near the water line, with pieces of skeleton scattered in the shallow water nearby. I gathered as many bones as I could then assembled them in approximate order.
I'm sure I mixed lumbar with cervical vertebrae, and tarsals with carpals, but you get the gist of my effort.
The creature that once wrapped these bones appears to have been a common harbour seal, which died and was picked clean by the birds, crabs and other scavengers.
