[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was at the Mill Pond Park again on the weekend and my timing could not have been better. The untended fringes of the park glow with goldenrod at its peak.

Canadian Goldenrod (Solidago canadensis) has been falsely accused of being the cause of hayfever, from which so many people suffer this time of year. These fabulous flowers happen to bloom at the same time as ragweed, whose wind borne pollen is the true cause of the allergy. Goldenrod pollen is much too heavy and sticky (as we shall see in another view tomorrow.
These plants grow to a good size, generally about 5 feet tall, which makes closeups like this very easy.

Tech: shot in RAW and converted I cropped and 800 pixel image out of the original 4096 pixel high capture to show the individual flowers a little better.

I shall put the original image (reduced to TN specs) in a workshop

Thanks for looking and have a golden day

Hi Silke,

I looked at this lovely picture and thought of hay fever! You straightened me out in your notes. Beautiful shot and a very nice composition. The gold is wonderful especially against the dark background. Once again, simplicity wins out.

Hello Silke,
This is a beauty, and I like to see something blooming this time of year!
The fine light really makes the flowers sparkle, and the bright yellow stands out well on the muted background...
Well framed presentation!
