[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
It is becoming a typical Ontario Autumn now, with days of rain and drizzle interspersed with hours of scattered sunbeams. So this morning, when the sky cleared briefly, I dashed off to capture some flowers and birds at the local pond. The sun was only just creeping above the trees, so the dew had not yet dried – wonderful for photos, not so wonderful for clothes;). I lingered as long as I dared and then headed back for the car. Not a moment too soon either, for the cell phone started ringing as I jogged back down the path. My next appointment had shown up at my door early and he would have to wait for a few minutes.

The season for asters is slowly coming to a close with the deeper night-time chill. But one of these three is still determined to put a brave face on for us. The name Aster comes from an ancient Greek word meaning star. This particular variety is commonly known as the New England Aster, a native wildflower found throughout most of North America. It is a perennial that provides food and a home to a number of species of butterflies, skippers and moths.

Hi Silke,
that's wonderful and so pretty for the end of summer and autumn. Also the flower has some tears - like it have. All the insects are gone now, and it's such a long time until they are back. So we can be happy to be members here, so we can look at wonderful shots of summer during the winter-time, thanks and greetings

sensacional trabajo,

Hi Silke,
Yes, we are approaching fall for sure. The wind is starting to get going on the lakes now, with Gales more and more often. I actually started a fire in our wood stove for the first time this morning too. I really like these wild asters, this is the first year I kept my husband from chopping them down around our fence telling him how much the butterflies like them ( oh and they do!)
I really like your shot, the color is perfect and I like the little raindrops ..glad you didn't get wet! thanks for the beautiful photo. TFS

Hi Silke,
What a very beautiful photo. The details and lighting in this photo are of very caliber. I love the drops of water adding that extra crispness to the flower. The contrast between the purple flower and the dark green leaves is perfect and gives a great visual impact. Superb work on the clarity and DOF.

Hi Silke!

It's a wonderful picture in typical autumnal colors. It remembers us last summer and invites us to prpare for winter with much joy and verve!

The sharpness is amazing, the little diamonds on the petals are the cherry on the cake...

Well seen, well done!

Kind regards

Markus

Bonjour Selke,
Another beautiful picture taken in your galery, excellent point of view and sharpness portrait, nice colours and light, Bravo..
Michel

Yes, they are so beautiful and this is much impressive to see them so numerous in early autumn. I was walking in the woods a few weeks ago and it was purple everywhere; I was feeling like being is a fairy tale with a deep blue sky, yellow and orange leaves, wild berries and those magnificent flowers! :) I must say that autumn is definitively my preferred season and it always been like that. This is an excellent capture with super exposure, composition, details and I love those little droplets. Well seen!
Claudine

Beautiful image representing the changing seasons, Silke.
I like the water drops clinging to the petals of those lovely flowers.
Very well composed shot.
TFS and regards.
