[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Dedicated to Bob Shannon whose North American landscapes tell so much about the wilderness of the Pacific Coast of this continent and whose notes have inspired me to go back to my own writing again at along last.

Oops, I've done it again :D
I went to a jazz gig yesterday and took photos outside instead of inside.
It was simply too perfect: As we drove up to the club, I could see a shaft of sunshine piercing the heavy clouds that had been with us on all the long 2-hour drive there. And the gold of the leaves was irresistible. I left Roy to set up his equipment on the stage on his own while I ran up the hill behind the club to get the best angle. The Grand River below picked up the deep blues and greys of the heavy autumnal skies and formed the perfect backdrop.

Over half an hour later, having shot the river, the trees and various combinations of the two I scrambled back down the hill and settled down at a table in front of the stage. My fiancé grinned at me. He'd watched me from an upper window as I hauled myself up a steep slope to get the best angle while the wind did its best to blow me into the valley.
What could I say? Sunny autumn days are too few and far between to lose.

Tech: shot in RAW, converted, cropped slightly, sharpened edges, framed and signed

Thanks for looking and have a golden week

Hi Silke
I loved the color of the yellow tree and the perfect composition you got.
God DOF, POV, sharpness and the water BG is a must..

Wow I am impressed once more....I can't believe it. How very thoughtful of you yes? More...I had a very lousy picture day yesterday..but your picture makes up for my errors and shows how I now feel. It certainly captures a season and a mood...A nice sunny place to be instead of cloudy dreary day yesterday out here. Your new framing is beautiful and enhances the picture so very much. Well done. Thank you..

Hi Silke!

The colors and the contrasts are beautiful and I like the warm atmosphere your picture generates. It also shows us how ephemeral autumn is: while one tree is shining in bright colors, the other one already is nude.

Well seen, well done!

Kind regards

Markus

Hello Silke

A lovely autumn shot of this golden tree.It really contrasts well against the dark BG.Nicely placed in the frame.I believe it would appear sunny even on a gloomy autumn day.It is such a shame that the leaves drop off so quickly after they turn.TFS

Rob

Magnifique, j'adore la composition et le cadre met nettement en valeur ce beau paysage.
Bravo

Hello Silke,
A beautiful image of autumn; the golden tree, the lake and the sun at a low angle!
Greetings,
Pablo -

i came across his name recently...
and i can see where his success came from in this airy and open shot of nature
this time i defer to the sandbank images..they do add to the balace of things suggesting the rivers depth and clarity
cheers

Hello Silke,
Looking at your gallery I was struck by the golden colour of this autumnal birch shining in the sun against the leaden colour of the water BG and realised that I had overlooked this beauty, now remedied.
Great composition, but most of all I like the colours of this autumnal shot.
TFS and hve a nice weekend,
Ivan

Hi Slike,
Wonderful lighty leaves! Beautiful contrast between warm colours and cold ones.
Cheers,

Claude

Ahh, more talents I have found.... pointed in such a different direction than I ever would have suspected.. you truly are hiding such great talent, keeping it for who? I'm sounding like a jealous paramour.... but you hide the best... I'm ever watching..
