Last week I actually found myself with a whole grand hour without commitments, so I decided to play an exploration game that I had used many years ago. I headed out for a game of red light/ green light: if the traffic light is red when I get to it, I will turn right; if it is green I will go straight. I set myself a time limit too, of course. At such and such a time I must turn around and start heading back.

This is where I ended up: the northern edge of a very small town well north of Toronto. I had stopped on the road to turn around and spotted some trees with leaves the richest shade of gold. The gentleman who spotted me taking pictures turned out to be the groundskeeper of the cemetery and on his advice I went to the back of the cemetery and found this fabulous view. that thin ribbon of blue on the horizon is the Holland River, which drains into Lake Simcoe.

I took quite a number of shots from various angles, landscapes that I will be sharing on TN and other shots that will appear on TL. And I have an invitation from the groundskeeper to come back again after the leaves are all gone and again when the land is covered with snow. So I hoe you won't get too bored with the occasional landscape from Queensville Ontario

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful weekend

HI Silke,
love the presentation here, it really emphasises the feeling of height from those tall trees. That's a cool game to play, not heard of it but will definitely be trying it...

Sounds like a fun and productive afternoon. This is a nice wide angled shot emphasized the height of these pines. Your unique presentation balances the composition well.

Hi Silke,

I love the story of how you found this spot. And a beautiful one it is. A wonderful composition showing the height of these pine trees. Lovely greens and blues - just gorgeous.

Wow...Ya know this is the second time today I have seen a vertical shot done so well. I cannot do it this way. Not sure what is preventing. I have taken a number but none to my satisfaction. Perhaps that is why I always if not most times take landscape..but you did it well here..I shall put this on my list of things to learn.

Hello Silke,
Great trees to frame the fine landscape behind!
I see you still have great autumn weather, I'm envious since here I can count the sunny days on one hand...

Hi Silke, wonderful tall tree in a splendid landscape with great colors, excellent composition, very well done, ciao Silvio

Hi Silke,
What a cool game to play. I wish I could play this game in my country as well. But I am sure that I would be driving in circles. I almost never catch a green light and if so they are only for right turning traffic.
You ended up at a very beautiful location that also seems to give you some futures stunners. How nice of the groundskeeper to invite you.
I really like the gradient blue sky and how its contrasts with the huge trees. Composition and exposure are superb! A small bit disapointed in the sharpness.
TFS,
Niek
