[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is the second in my series from Queensville and the second last in my Remembrance Day series.

Standing on the outer edge of a cemetery looking northwest we can just see the blue ribbon that marks the Holland River which drains into Lake Simcoe. There is a strong slope to the land as it dips toward the lake. This is a place from which one feels the powers that shaped this part of the world. The hillocks at our feet are the last edges of the moraine deposited by a receding glacier long ago. And the strong straight lines of the red pines on the edge of the hill have been throwing their long shadows before you and I walked the earth.

Tech: found serendipitously, composed in camera, captured in RAW, converted without changes, resized, sharpened edges, framed and signed

Thanks for visiting and for critiques and suggestions
Have a wonderful weekend

hello silke,

well done,

Again you show your capabilities at displaying a good shot in a vertical position. It is a hard thing to do with images...and to retain what it is you saw as well. I truly cannot do this. You sure can though...Very nice

Hi Silke,
again a lovely composition....the vertical format supports the height of the trees and their placement lets us explore into the far distance....the way you framed it enhances the whole scenery......so peaceful and reflective.

best wishes
kessi

Hello Silke,
Seems like most of the colourful foliage now is on the ground, and nature is getting ready for winter!
But at least you have some great weather, wonderful light and blue sky...
A well balanced composition, as the trees nicely frame the wider view!
Greetings,
Pablo -

I want to run to the top of that hill and roll all the way down. That just looks like a wonderful place to be. :)

Hello Silke

It looks like a beautiful place to visit. The lay of the land and the way it slopes away creates a beautiful view of the distance.
The focus is sharp with very good details.
The bright October day provides the right light to produce beautiful Autumn colours,I remember this day well,I was off and spent it at a farm with my kids (a local pumpkin patch),the weather was similar here .
The orange leaves are a nice accent colour and the brilliant blue sky is wonderful.
