[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
"BOB SHANNON'S" gift = his favorite colour = blue. But, he is NEVER EVER blue.

He is known on TN as eqshannon.

Blue Morpho with its wings wide open; however, when not in flight they look like this. This one was "sucking" the alcohol of the fermented banana presented to them at the Butterfly House in the Vancouver Island B.C.,Canada, just North of the city of Victoria. However, the one you are looking at, with its wings wide open, was registered in the Calgary Zoo.

Wikipedia has a lot of technical details of this species if you care to look it up. Am also presenting them in their pupal stage in this series. It is called CHRYSALIS.

Yes I most certainly do love blue! I used to have daydreams of floating in a clear blue water...I still can close my eyes and see the colour. And doggone it...this is exactly the blue I am referring to. I find it interesting that you had noticed...and this butterfly is beautiful. I truly appreciate it. My dad past and left me with a shadowbox..and inside was a blue morpho..I don't have it nearby, but it was something he passed along.. My mother, the creative artisan as well made the glass framed box..thanks for sharing this beauty! Ia m going to send a picture..it says on the box which I just found Brazilian Blue Morpho..

I share Bob's love for blue, Aires. I guess we are spiritual persons at heart.
This blue butterfly with lovely dark patterns along the edges of its wings gives me great pleasure, though I wish you had shot it against some BG with less details. Nevertheless, it is a great shot.
