Is it just me or does this duck look like she is smiling.
A wonderful family shot of these Mallards.They look very relaxed and happy.
The focus is sharp with excellent details.
The colours are rich and well saturated.
You captured excellent eye contact with five of the six,one of them looks a little sleepy.

La or Le...Canard...I tend to forget...or is it Les? Wow..my mind boggles as I attempt to juggle way long ago learned languages which only now come up on TN. I agree on the words"archetypal duck"...it is indeed what man think of when imagining...the mallard. A icon! A family of icons eh? And they look as you have pictured them,. as though they are as relaxed a family as one can be...although I doubt if there is a dysfunctional duck family. We may never know.. Done 10 days after my B'Day... very nice image from a person who loves nature.
