| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Taken today in the University of Guelph Arboretum. Since I have learned that my 75-300 is not sharp enough to allow cropping, I camped out for a very long time int he cold today until I could get close enough to fill the frame with this beauty.
The University of Guelph's Arboretum webpage has some great bird information here.
PP: I worked with curves to massage the colour and I cloned out one area of pure white that was very distracting to the eye. I then just resized and sharpened enough to counter the effects of resizing.
Re-post info: I went back to address comments of sharpness and adjustmed my workflow to include carefull capture (RAW) sharpening and better anti-noise work. I had snapped two photos within one second, and the other included the tail. So I spliced the two photos together to show the whole bird. I will be curious to see whether people find this photo better after I addressed concerns or whether my poor lens just totalled the photo :)
All comments (even negative!) are very welcome... I really need to figure out my workflow and lens situation. |

Hi Josh,
This is looking good. Nice and sharp, great POV/pose, good DOF with blurred BG. Congrats on your second place win in the photo contest. TFS

Jammer dat je het puntje van de staart mist.
