[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken in the University of Guelph Arboretum. Since I have learned that my 75-300 is not sharp enough to allow cropping, I camped out for a very long time in the cold today until I could get close enough to almost fill the frame with this beauty.

The University of Guelph's Arboretum webpage has some great bird information here.

PP: All PP related to countering the soft lens. I have worked very hard in sharpening this photo making careful use of all the new features of CameraRAW and then sharpening creatively and again for the specified output size. I have found it difficult to strike a balance between oversharpening and letting some areas go blurry.

All comments (even negative!) are very welcome... I really need to figure out my workflow and lens situation.

Well you have managed very well to fill the frame with this amazing bird! What a great pose and I really like the eye contact! The bird knows exactly what you are up to.... ;o)

Your sharpening is very close to the edge but still OK. What program do you do your editing in and what method of sharpening (plug maybe)?

Best regards/Bengt

P.S. One more thing... did you do any noise reduction? D.S.

Hi Josh.
Strong and nice composition and excellent exposure of the bird and wire. Details and colours of the bird are perfect too. X-composition is really very impressive. My compliments and best wishes.
Alexei.
