Sanderling - Calidris alba
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
* This species is a long-distance migrant, wintering as far south as Tierra del Fuego. Much of the mortality of first year Sanderlings occurs on migration.
* Sanderlings fly and feed in compact flocks, and will more often run away than fly when approached closely. |

Hi Paul
Good study of the sanderling, we get them in Australia too, though ours come from Siberia. Nevertheless its a bloody long way to fly year after year.
Good sharpness and composition. I like teh POV too.
