[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This snowy owl was photographed near a farmers land. The farmers appreciate the owls as they kill many rodents. I am very glad to see man & nature co-existing, this is a great example.

* In 1987, the Snowy Owl was named the official bird of the province of Quebec.

* Young males tend to have a white bib, a white back of the head, and fewer rows of bars on the tail than females. Although the darkest males and the palest females are nearly alike in color, the whitest birds are always males and the most heavily barred ones are always females. Some old males can be nearly pure white.

Hi Paul, this is a great picture and very well composed with the bird on those perches, with similar colours. Too bad there's a house in the background and I wonder if it was possible for you to have another pov as often with animals like these they flee without advice. Thanks anyway for this charming and beautiful picture of a great owl.

Hi Paul,
I never had the chance to see an owl in the wild, thanks for sharing this one with us. Great sharpness and beautiful natural colours.
Very well done.
Lise
