Today I have a fine and furry friend for you to enjoy.I really like foxes and during 2007,I was able to get over 600 photos of them. This shot is that of one of the adults in a large family of 11,two adults and nine kits.I'm happy to report that all kits made it into adulthood and that their parents are still around.I have only had fleeting glimpses of them since this photo was taken. The Red Fox is the world's most common mammalian predator and on a subjective level ,the most attractive looking if you ask me.A healthy fox is not an animal to fear as they are very shy and retiring creatures and it is rare to be attacked by one. These animals are mostly nocturnal and the only times they can be seen during the day is when they are raising young, that, or early or late during the day.Since this photo was taken I have not had any luck getting new shots of them even though I know where they live, but someday soon I hope to.I hope you enjoy this fine, furry friend and can get some shots of them this year as well.Cropped and resized using Paint.Net.A note about Paint.Net,this is a free to download photo editing software that is ever evolving and getting better with each new release, you can get this fine program from -where else www.paint.net-sorry Mac users it only works on Windows,Vista and Xp.

Have a good weekend. Bob

It is getting so that I can tell a good Canon and lens very quickly. Of course the eye behind the camera must be good, as you are. Not as good as you are but good......as you are...hmmmm...Well anyway the flowers of the weeds really set out the form of the fox...and no mistaking this one eh? It looks like one than Daniel Boone might have enjoyed for the tail...but I digress...Excellent work Bob
Bob 2 alas..domani...

Hi Bob, this is a very fine picture, I love the light in this one. The fox is superb, almost posing, and look at the different textures of fur! He looks like a teenanger with pins in its nose! I like the composition of this beautiful animal in the middle of flowers, where he stopped to watch something right in front of you. The details are superb and I'll see about paintnet, thanks for the information. And as usual, I love reading your notes,

Francine

Bonjour Bob,
très jolie image : j'aime bien les plantes autour de l'animal qui le mettent en valeur, ainsi que les couleurs de ce renard, haut sur pattes.
Cordialement,
Antoine.

Hello Bob,
A lovely animal indeed!
Seems like the fox has a mix of summer and remains of winter fur, but the he looks like healthy and alert...
A well composed presentation, and fine focus to isolate the subject in surroundings!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi Bob. A good close up of the For. Your have longer looking tails than the ones in England. you have captured this one with good detail and colours. a nice pose in the weeds and flowers. well done TFS.
Nick..

Its so rare to see foxes around here. Once in a while I see one racing across a field but not so often. This is a beauty. Love the expression on his face and the great surroundings.

Hi Bob,
Magnifique, la nature dans totue sa beauté, ces animaux sauvages si difficile à voir tu les saisi sur ta caméra avec une grande netteté , de belles couleurs.Merci
Marie

Hello Bob
This is a lovely fox in thier own environment but what makes it superb is your focusing and the level of sharpness...I really like the alertness of the ears showing how wary the fox is so this cant have been a walk up and take a snap..you must have spent a lot of time researching the family (as is detailed superbly in your note).
Tfs this one and the best of regards
Paul

Hi Bob,

A good capture of the skinny red fox surrounder by yellow flowers. The subject is well framed. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the fox. Have a nice day.

Hello Bob,
Excellent shot of this Red Fox, the range of colours are amazing with superb detail, pov and composition all spot on really nice work all the best Cheers Rick :)

Hi Bob,
Superb capture of this beautiful animal showing him in mid coat change. They do look scruffy at this stage but they are amazingly beautiful animals. My Mom who was a farm girl told me if a fox could get its' head through a hole the fox was in the chicken coop. Thanks for sharing this splendid image with us Bob.
Rick
PS Is that a porcupine quill in the right side of his nose?

Hello Bob

This is a stellar shot,I love the natural surroundings and the relaxed, pensive look of your fox. This is natural and beautiful.
You have captured this stage of the Red fox's life well,it is lean and the fur shedding.
Excellent POV and DOF,the focus is sharp and rife with detail.
Great job.

Rob

A fine friend you said; yes it is! What a beauty! This animal looks so elegant and classy :) You captured a superb pose with great details, colors and exposure; I love its tail and ears! You took more than 600 pictures of foxes and I never had the chance to take only one Bob! Why is life so unfair? :) I do love those animals a lot but I never see them. This is an outstanding shot, congratulations!
Claudine
