[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
“Mad rush for lunch” is the name of this photograph taken today in a secluded river in Bowring Park. As I was photographing some of the ducks, I noticed to ladies with a bag of birdseed. When I ask them if they were feeding the ducks, they stated they were going upstream to feed four swans and some ducks.
They said I was welcome to join them and take some photos so I’ve followed along. It was a five minute walk and then we had to march in the deep snow till we arrived at a snow covered wooden bridge.
Looking down I took a number of photographs and this is the result.
As soon as they threw the birdseed on the snow, a multitude of hungry creatures suddenly appeared. They were exceedingly ravenous.
Using a shutter speed of 1/50, their quick movements seemed a little blurred. I also used neutral density polarized.
It is really nice to see a number of caring individuals feeding the hungry animals on a regular basis. Maybe the city should provide more food.
This photograph was cropped, level adjusted, and saved for the web.

A lovley flurry of activity well-captured here.
In our town, there are large signs informing the public that they are NOT to feed the waterfowl as most commercial feed causes the birds' stomachs to swell.
Naturally the signs are often ignored and, just as naturally, some of the birds die.
There is a lesson to be learned -- people who care, need to be care-full.
